The Muslim community living in the West has been shifting between kufr and iman for many years now. We would like to present this press release to clarify the issue of working, collaborating, or otherwise helping to spy on the Muslims via local, national, and even international law enforcement agencies.
Since the time of Muhammad SAWS, we have seen the enemies of Islam and the Muslims attack from every conceivable angle. Whether it was by subterfuge and propaganda or open warfare and assassins, the kuffar made it their priority to destabilize the Message. Numbered among the enemies of the Muslims were the Persian Empire, the Roman Empire, the Jewish tribes of Medina, the Quraish. Even the Prophet’s own uncle, Abu Lahab, was Islam’s inveterate foe. Nowadays, the enemy of Islam and the Muslims usually come in the form of quaint acronyms such as FBI, CIA, MI5, ISI, and so on. It makes sense that those from the camp of falsehood would wage intellectual and physical war on the camp of Islam, as the kuffar live for the sake of taghoot.
In our day and age, we see a new tool at the kuffar’s disposal, largely unnoticed by the Muslims. They wear the same clothes as the Muslims, they can recite the Quran cover to cover, their walls are lined with degrees from illustrious names such as Al-Azhar, Medina, and Harvard University, and they even speak our languages and claim to be upon the “manhaj of the Salaf, ya akhi!” It is hardly surprising that the newest additions to the kuffar ranks are “Sheikhs” and “Imams” on the payroll, so-called Muslims we trusted… once.
What is the hukm regarding those Muslims who align themselves with the kuffar, collaborating with them to spy, entrap, besiege, and arrest the Muslims?
“-وَلَا تَجَسَّسُوا وَلَا يَغْتَبْ بَعْضُكُمْ بَعْضًا
“O you who Believe avoid much suspicion, indeed some suspicion is a sin. And spy not on one an other neither backbite one another” [EMQ 49:12]
These are the same Muslims who, like Mohammed Elibiary and Yasir Qadhi, believe that we must aid these law enforcement agencies to sort out “potential extremist threats,” even going so far as to turn in our own children to the kuffar. Qadhi and Elibiary are prominent figures in the Muslim community. Many of the Muslim youth will not hold back from praising the encyclopedic knowledge of Qadhi. Yet, it is a curious circumstance that “Ustadh” Qadhi does not seem to apply Islam when it comes to allying with the kuffar against the Muslims. (
For the record, it was Yasir Qadhi along with Waleed Basyouni, who stood silent when Elibiarys article was posted on MuslimMatters, and they had no objection to such an act, not even to state the ruling on a Muslim who collaborates with the FBI to assist in capturing other Muslims from their own community. ) Mohammed Elibiary was actually relishing the fact that he was given one of the highest civilian honors for his intelligence gathering for the FBI (see article on http://muslimmatters.org/2011/09/18/fbi-training-the-ackerman-expose-american-muslim-community-concerns/) Even gangsters and mobsters have a sense of honor and never snitch on their fellow criminals. These imams seem to lack even the most infinitesimal allegiance to Islam. Why is it that these imams, despite their years of learning and wealth of knowledge, do not see that they are openly committing kufr for the sake of pleasing the enemies of Islam and the Muslims?
In a recent article published on Salon.com, it was revealed that the FBI recently stopped its “Anti-Muslim” training. This included teaching recruits that the Prophet PBUH was a “cult leader” and that mainstream Muslims are “terrorist sympathizers.” And this is the very organization that the likes of Sheikh Qadhi and Elibiary want us to aid in their search for “terrorists”? How is it that you, the Muslim, whom Allah SWT says is from the best community of mankind, decides that he wants to earn the accolades of the kuffar, get those “highest civilian honors” and turn against the Muslims and imitate that dirty kaafir? This is the same kaafir who has no moral reference point, no real source of ethics, and would sell his own mother for the sake of a promotion… and you want to imitate him, get praise, claps and medals from him?
Allah azza wa jal says in the Quraan:
ُمُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ۚ وَالَّذِينَ مَعَهُ أَشِدَّاءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَاءُ بَيْنَهُمْ
Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. And those with him are hard against the disbelievers and merciful among themselves.” (The Quran 48:29)
Is this the path that Khalid bin Waleed would have taken? Is this what Abu Bakr as Siddique would have done? Certainly they would never give up a Muslim. Is it even conceivable to think that Umar bin Khattab, a name which struck terror in the hearts of the Roman and Persian empires, would have spied on his Muslims for the sake of the Kuffar? How about the Prophet PBUH? What would he have done? Have we forgotten our roots, and were we not left with the best of all of mankind (The Prophet PBUH and his Companions) to learn from their example? Muslim upon the authority of Abu Hurairah: the Messenger Muhammad (saw) said: “If someone looks into your home without your permission and you throw a stone and blind him there is no sin on your neck or blood-money towards him” and it is further reported in Bukhari and Muslim upon the authority of Sahl Bin Sa’id that a man was looking from a hole into the Prophet’s room and the Prophet had a short sharp arrow with which he (saw) was scratching his head. He (saw) said to him that: “If I had known that you were spying on me I would take stabbed you in your eye through the hole, verily requesting permission to enter peoples houses has been legislated for the sake of looking into peoples houses”
Umar bin Abdul Aziz, the famous Caliph, was ready to pay any price that the kuffar wanted to release a single Muslim hostage. Nowadays, “Some Muslims” will take any pittance just to put our brothers and sisters into the hands of organizations such as the FBI and CIA, who have covertly and openly shown their hatred for Islam and the Muslims in their countless, treacherous acts against Islam. Some do not even do it for a salary, like Elibiary. They will do it for the sake of a certificate and “civilian honors.” Congratulations, you have sold your Deen, your Tawheed, your Emaan for a miserable price.
We must put the kuffaar in perspective. You have to wonder what lengths they will go to in order to secure that arrest, or lock that promotion, or acquire that silly patch or star on their shoulders. This is all they live for; this is what they work their entire lives for. Their focus is never to root out a dangerous situation or defuse a potential threat. In fact, it is simply to gain a higher position within their own organization whether it is in the FBI, CIA, or even the local police department. We can take the cases of Mohamed Osman Mahmood and Sami Samir Hassoun. Both were young, mentally disturbed Muslim men accused of trying to carry out bomb attacks which could not, in any way or form, cause any harm physically to any one in these situations. In both cases, a Muslim was used by the FBI and the FBI controlled the entire situation from beginning to end, even giving them fake explosives, only to “arrest” them just in the nick of time. The FBI reached out to these two hapless individuals, convinced them that they should carry out the attacks, and then arrested them when they were about to detonate the (fake) explosive. How convenient! Someone will be getting a shiny new star for their uniforms!
Although the FBI admitted that both individuals were in need of psychiatric help, and they were on medication according to their parents, this did not deter the FBI from entrapping these innocent young men in a completely controlled scenario, only revealing that they somehow thwarted a conspiracy at the end of the day, giving the illusion that they made the country safer. This is nothing more than hypocrisy, and any rational person will see the truth behind it.
As Muslims living in countries such as the United States and the United Kingdom, it is often difficult to discern how we should conduct ourselves living in societies that consider us pariahs. At once, we are torn between integration and isolation. However, we must remember that we are not American Muslims, or Muslim Americans. We are not Muslims first and Americans second. We are Muslims first, anything else is irrelevant, even where we live! Our living, dying, transaction, our very essence is not defined by anything other than Islam!
:قُلْ إِنَّ صَلَاتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَايَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ
"Say: "Verily, my Salah, my sacrifice, my living, and my dying are for Allah, the Lord of all that exists''. [Quran (6:162)]
Dear brothers and sisters, to fight against your Muslim brethren makes you sinful. However, to ally with the kuffar will make you a KAAFIR. You will make ridda from the deen and become an apostate!
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تَتَّخِذُوا الْيَهُودَ وَالنَّصَارَىٰ أَوْلِيَاءَ ۘ بَعْضُهُمْ أَوْلِيَاءُ بَعْضٍ ۚ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُم مِّنكُمْ فَإِنَّهُ مِنْهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَهْدِي الْقَوْمَ الظَّالِمِينَ)
”O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.”(5:51)
Allah SWT has told us in the Quran that we, the Muslims, are the best community amongst all of mankind because we command the good, forbid the evil, and he has honored us with this deen.
كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِاللَّهِ ۗ
"Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah.”(3110)
Be wary of men and women who hold the title of “Sheikh” yet are nowhere to be found on the vital issues of our time. Be wary of those who ally with the enemies of Islam and the Muslims. Certainly, their aqeeda is in need of serious tuning. For any Kafir government that is at war with Islam and the Muslims (and indeed they are at war with us), it is forbidden in Islam to assist or collaborate with any of these institutions in any way, shape, or form. Doing so violates any individual belief in Allah! THE ISLAMIC RULING ON AIDING AGENCIES SUCH AS THE FBI, MI5 etc IS THAT IT IS COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY FORBIDDEN FOR US TO DO SO! It may be that you receive money from them, that you receive green-cards, awards, recognition, a jar of honey and a crust of bread, but in exchange they will take your deen from you.
It is a time of serious internal reflection, and perhaps we should look to Islam for the answers to the problems we encounter. If Mr. Elibiary or Sheikh Qadhi and his cabal at the al-Maghrib institute would have taken the Islamic approach, they would not have shook the hands of the very people who are responsible for murdering, raping, demonizing, and humiliating our fellow brothers and sisters abroad for no reason other than that they are Muslims and they do not want the kaafir way of life ie; Democracy, man-made laws, and Capitalism. These same institutions are responsible for creating an atmosphere of tension and fear for the Muslims living in Western countries. We have individuals and Masjid committees in America who are willing to collaborate with the enemies of Islam, believing in them, assisting them against their own Muslim brothers in their own communities. Even in instances where the true agenda of the kuffar leaks out, you still have Muslims who give the enemies the benefit of doubt, working with them to the extent where they receive awards of excellence for their contributions in further jeopardizing the Muslim communities of America. All this, while believing they are getting ‘ajr from Allah! La hawla wa ‘ala quwwata illah billah. Such a level of taqwa(consciousness of Allah) the Ummah has reached!
It is a sad situation, as many of the Muslim Youth look up to figures such as Qadhi, Basyouni, and others. They have considerable sway in the Muslim community. They have the ability to make a real difference and engage in meaningful dialogue with society and interact with the non-Muslims to introduce them to Islam. Instead, they are perfectly content to isolate themselves and their students from the affairs of the Ummah and wed marry themselves with the enemies of Islam and Muslims.
We must remember that we are not from the Ummah of Barack Obama and David Cameron. We are not from the Ummah of “Sheikh” Hasina and Hamid Karzai, or the Saudi Kings and Queens. These people, and all rulers, are apostates, kaafirs, and mushriks, and have openly declared themselves as enemies of Islam and the Muslims. However, we ARE from the Ummah of Khalid bin Waleed, Umar bin Khattab, Aisha, and Ali ibn Abu Talib (RAA). These are our examples, and these are the ones whom we look to for guidance We look up to the best community in history as our example. It is a time for revival of this deen. It is time to engage in a political and intellectual struggle to revive this Ummah from its long and miserable slumber. Hold fast to your deen, command the good and forbid the evil, and if you wish to secure your Imaan from the grips of ridda (apostasy), then remember that you are a unique Ummah amongst all of mankind, and indeed you are the best of mankind. It is time to implement Islam in all of life’s affairs, as an ideology and not as an esoteric religion confined to the walls of a mosque. Islam has a unique solution to every unique situation that befalls mankind. Certainly, this is a better alternative than that given by men.
